The next-generation of battery storage is here. We unveiled the Pion Power Liquid-Cooling Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Electricity Transformation Canada Show, marking a major milestone in our venture to develop efficient, and scalable battery energy storage technology.
The new Pion Power Liquid-Cooling BESS features a precision liquid-cooling architecture that maintains a cell temperature differential within 5 °C, ensuring optimal performance and uniform thermal balance during high-demand operations. This intelligent liquid-cooling energy storage design enables more than 6,000 charge cycles, significantly extending system lifespan and reducing maintenance requirements for large-scale applications.
Engineered for safety and intelligence, the system incorporates real-time monitoring, fault isolation, and multi-layer fire protection, including temperature, smoke, and gas detection sensors. Its integrated Battery Management System (BMS) and Energy Management System (EMS) work together to balance performance, prevent overheating,—maximize operational efficiency while prioritizing safety.
Demonstrated live at Electricity Transformation Canada 2025, the BESS drew strong attention from renewable energy developers, utilities, and commercial integrators for its scalability and robust protection features. Each unit offers 261 kWh of capacity at a nominal 832 V, supports up to 10 parallel connections, and communicates seamlessly through Modbus, IEC-104, and MQTT protocols—ensuring smooth integration into modern grid and microgrid environments.
Built for reliability, the Pion Power Liquid-Cooling Energy Storage System is housed in IP55-rated enclosures with IP67-rated battery packs, delivering durability for both indoor and outdoor installations.
