Nova Scotia has re-opened the Low Carbon Communities Program—offered through the Nova Scotia department of energy. After the success of previous years, the province has decided to go ahead with another round to promote low carbon solutions in the province. Clean electricity is a major category for the rebates, including solar energy projects. This means your business can get up to 75% off a solar installation for up to $75,000.
The program is available for a very limited time—with the deadline to express interest set at April 25th 2025. Please see below for the timeline of the Low Carbon Communities program.
Deadline to express interest: April 25th, 2025
Deadline to submit application package: May 20, 2025
Deadline to start project: August 2025

Why Your Business Shouldn’t Miss Out On The Low Carbon Communities Program
The Low Carbon Communities Program is currently the biggest commercial solar rebate in the province. Not only does that mean a great deal for your business to make an eco-friendly upgrade—it also brings in long-term financial and energy security benefits.
With so much unpredictability all over the world, it’s nice to know you can depend on generating your own energy on-site. Instead of being subject to sudden rate increases, your business now has the stability of low power bills for decades to come.
The rebates are also stackable with a 30% refundable tax credit, giving your business even more off the total cost of a system.
