Nova Scotia has launched an accessible community solar program that enables businesses to share energy produced by their solar system with members of the community. Enter into a Power Purchase Agreement with Nova Scotia Power and get paid for your system’s solar energy generation. All the power your system produces is sold to NSP at an agreed upon rate, and is then distributed among subscribers of your garden.
You get to know that you’re doing good for your community while still earning money from your investment. Want to get started? Contact Polaron to connect with one of our specialists for a free quote and consultation.
How Does The Nova Scotia Community Solar Garden Work?
We’ll help you apply for the Community Solar Program and install your system so you can start sharing your solar energy wealth. Other Nova Scotia businesses and homeowners will buy a subscription and receive a certain amount of power from your system. You’ll get paid and the community gets cheaper and cleaner energy—a huge win for everyone!
To qualify for the solar garden program, your project has to be in Nova Scotia, be located in an area that NSP services and have a nameplate capacity between 0.5MWac and 10MWac. This innovative program could be a great way for you to make some extra money while using up empty roof or land space on your property.
