How does Behind the Meter Work?
1. Photovoltaic cells absorb the sun’s energy and convert it into a DC electric current.
2. A solar inverter converts DC current into AC electric currents for use in the building.
3. Your electrical panel then sends this electricity throughout your building to power your electronics.
4. A grid interface and protection panels will prevent extra power from going back to the grid.
